Croatia, situated in the Central Europe, has a forme and a surface resulted from the Civil War in the 90`s. In this way, Croatia is composed by 2 distinct parts:

The hilly Slavonia with its capital at Zagreb in the East

Dalmatia - region situated in the West, with Dinaric Alps (or Dinarides)

The calcareous peaks of this mountain chain from the coast of the Adriatic Sea descent abruptly to the water, where it`s transforming in countless little inslands, which prolongs the coasts line of this country with more than 4000 km.

This region has been, until the end of the 80`s, one of the most popular touristic destinations of Europe. Each year there arrived thousands of tourist, specially from Germany and Italy. They were visiting famous locations like Zadar (photo 1), Split (photo 2), Rijeka (photo 3), Dubrovnik (photo 4). Unfortunately, the war has turned off this important sorce of income of Croatia.

After the peace was settled, the tourists started, slowly, to come back. Mostly the italians are very attached of this country and many of them possess holiday houses in Instria Peninsula.

Croatia has temperate clime, but in Dalmatia is a mediteranean one. On the coast, the temperature is about 9 degrees celcius in January and 25 in July. In Zagreb 0 degrees celcius in January and 24 in July.

What you must see:

the Roman Amphitheatre and the Arc of Triumph from Pula

the Cathedral and the historic city from Rijeka

The National Park Plitvice

the byzantine ruins from Zadar

the historical cities Trogir and Sibenik

the chain of defence fortresses between Trogir and Split

Diocletian`s Palace from Split

old city Dubrovnik

Dalmatia`s islands

Zagreb

The Cyclades are located in the Aegean Sea, being a group of Greek islands and also one of the ones that constitutes the Greek Archipelago.

The Cyclades fascinate the guests with their pitoresque landscapes, by a brightly white, in the middle of which there are asymmetrical settlements, narrow streets and many churches.

The Archipelago has 38 islands, each one with a surface no bigger than 400 km, but also a multitude of little islands.

Only 24 islands are populated, most of the little islands being inhabited.

The Cyclades form a separate administrative area, having the capital at Ermoupolis, on Siros Isle. The different islands are separated one of the others by very narrow gorges. The largest one measures no more than 37 km.

There is an anual invasion of European tourists, thirsty of sun, which separates the islands into 2 categories: the rich and the poor ones.

If Mikonos, Ios, Santorini and Paros can`t complain about a lack of interest from the travel lovers, Anafi and Kimolos has left almost wildly.

San Francisco (photo 1) is located in California, United States of America. Surrounded by the Pacific Ocean to the west, San Francisco Bay to the east and the Golden Gate to the north, San Francisco is the 4th most populous city in California.

Being famous for the fog fenomen which lasts sometimes a couple of months, San Francisco`s climate has mild winters, rain from November through March and snow only rarely.

Golden Gate Park is the biggest park from San Francisco, with Japanese Tea Garden (photo 2), an open area with 3 water fountains - The Music Concourse, The Young Museum (photo 3), the largest natural museum in the world - California Academy of Sciences and the Botanical Garden at Strybing Arboretum containing more than 7,500 plant species.

Other places from the Golden Gate park:

Stow Lake there you can have a boat tour, like in the 4th photo .

Spreckels Lake - built of traditional wood and glass panes

The Conservatory of Flowers being one of the largest conservatories in the world and Kezar Stadium (photo 5).

San Francisco is also well known for its architecture, a combination between the Victorian and the Modern one, and for the hills with abrupt slopes. Those hills also represents the name of some neighborhoods, considering the location: Nob Hill, Pacific Heights, Russian Hill, Potrero Hill and Telegraph Hill.

The Bay Bridge (photo 6) links San Francisco and Oakland, as part of Interstate 80. Other means of transport are:

trolleybuses

standard diesel buses

the Metro

Bicycling - a famous way of transportation. There are 101 km of bicycle lanes and paths throughout the city.

There we also have the San Francisco International Airport, located at 21 km South of downtown San Francisco, with the largest international terminal in North America.

According to our financial situation, our preferences and the offers we find, we have many means of transport to choose.

If you have decided to travel by coach, no matter how long the trip will be, you have to consider some things:

The coach can assure the transport of 40 to 50 passengers, depending on its type. If you`ll travel alone, you`ll probably have a trip mate and that`s not a person chosen by you. It can have a ticket with the specified number of the seat or it will just assume that one because he paid for it.

You`ll depend on the driver`s goodwill. I recommend you to find more details about the trip before you buy the ticket, ask where will be stops, how many and other information like this.

The weather. If is summer or very warm outside, think that the conditional air might be on almost all the time. It`s true that you can stop from time to time the one above your seat, but it can get pretty cold in the coach anyway. So it will be good if you`ll take a blouse with zipper or buttons.

Make a list with necessary things while travelling: what you can eat, drink, napkins, magazines, players, books and so on. If you have something which needs low temperature, you can leave it there with your luggages, it`s colder. But consider the possibility that other travelers might have many luggages with clothes or stuff and those will have priority.

For entertainment in a boring long trip you can bring some magazines or books for reading. Beware if you have car sickness, it`s not a good idea to keep your head down.

You can listen music at your mp3 player/cd player or others. Don`t forget to charge it completely before you leave.

If the coach has tv, the driver might put some movies. Those have between an hour and a half and 2 hours, so if you see 2-3 movies there are from 3 to 6 hours gone.

Word games can also be a nice way to spend the time or playing games at your mobile phone.

If you travel by day, you might see beautiful landscapes on the window from time to time. You should keep your camera near to you for some pictures.

If you have no problem with sleeping in the car, congratulations!

On the west side of Danube river, the hills from Buda throne over the city. For some centuries, the authories have used those hills as a method to protect the city of the attacks from East.In Budapest you can visit the Citadel (photo 2 - the entrance), upon Gellert Hill (photo 3), which represents more a fortress. There, it is used the name of Citadella for it. There, you will have the chance to take some beautiful pictures of the city, Gellert Hill offering an extraordinar view.

A visit at the Citadel will cost you 5 euro per person, and there you`ll certainly find many keepsakes for the dear ones or for yourself, to remember that place.

The buildings in Budapest have an amazing architecture, that`s why Budapest was often compared with Vienna, more than that, it was considerated its twin. There are impressionanting buildings (photo 4) by their size and in the centre there are narrow streets.

An important place for you to relax is Gellert Hotel and Baths (photo 5). That`s a spa centre, famous among the tourists, where you can spend some time in saunas, have massages or other therapies including drinking cures. There are many thermal pools where you could swim.

Other places for all these activities are:

Széchényi Spa

Danubius Grand Hotel/Thermal Hotel Margitsziget

The most famous places to eat among tourists are Gundel and Mátyás Pince, in Pest and for shopping you should take a tour in Great Market Hall.

Views from the Gellert Hill:

In Schönbrunn you must visit the Palace (photo 2), see the gardens, the Gloriette monument (photo 3) (raised in honor of the heroes and the victory of the Austrians in the battle from Kolin, 1757).

Also, you should not forget the Zoo, even more if have kids, they will be fascinated by all the animals in there: many varieties, from insects til elephants, the green houses where you`ll feel like in the jungle, by all the decorations, the sound and the plants.

There are also a orangery and a labyrinth (opened from April) which represents 3 km of winding alleys. At their end there`s an old tree, it is said that underground are 2 rocks yin - yang. Those are for finding the harmony in love, the man should hug the yin rock and the woman the other one.

At Schönbrunn (photo 4) you can come by car, on the subway or tramway. A trip with a mean of transport is 1,7 euro, but you can take a ticket for a day, two or three or you can buy a Vienna card with 20 euro. That one will allow you to travel free on any mean of transport, reductions at palaces, museums, cafes and so on.

Prater is a fun fair where the main attraction is the big wheel from where you can take some amazing photos of Vienna.

Hofburg (photo 5) is easy to find, in the centre, there you have to see the Imperial apartments, Sisi Museum, the Silver ware. You`ll pay only 10 euro per person.

Spanish Riding School (in the morning), the National Library are also some

great places to spend in Hofburg. The palace has many entries, for a better orientation.

St. Stephen’s Cathedral (photo 6) is in the centre, huge and from it you can walk to Graben (photo 7 - statue from there)- the most beautiful comercial street.

For a beautiful view at night you should amount to Donauturm, 165 meatres, for just 5,5 euro per person.

Passionate of music? Don`t miss a visit at the memorial houses of Beethoven and Mozart.

From the tramway you can take a tour of the city, but if you really want to see something (architecture and take pictures), do it by day.

It is possible that your children have car sickness, so I will give you some advice to keep them in good condition. The trip should start at the moment you`re leaving your city and it should be relaxing for all the members of the family.

How can we help our children?

they usually get this sickness when they stay with their head down. The head should be kept up, so you should avoid your children do some activities like drawing, reading and so on;

before you leave the house, give the children some healthy food, with slow sugar and poor in greases, to avoid the nausea;

don`t hesitate in giving them something to scrunch while you`re on the road, but don`t give them gaseous drinks, too fat or too sweet stuff, which can facilitate the digestive problems

air the car from time to time and make some stops, you can improve the ocassion to take some pictures, admire the landscapes;

avoid the too strong perfumes in the car

don`t ask them all the time if they are ok, don`t give them bags that can bring them the fear of the car, of being sick. You can turn them off from that by singing or showing them some things at the window.

The famous Liberty Bell (photo 2), which once had announced the sovereignty of the Britain colonies from North America, has been returned to England. In the present is placed in one of the pavilions of the Independence National Historical Park from Philadelphia, where were stored the most important artfacts from the history of the USA.

In the centre of the park we`ll find Independence Hall (photo 3), which belongs to UNESCO World Heritage Centre. Here, in 4 July 1776, the founders of USA have proclaimed the Declaration of Independence and was adopted, 11 years later, the American Constitution.

Philadelphia was called the capital of USA in 1790, there took place the reunions of the American Congress .

Philadelphia is still being an important economical centre and it occupies the third place on the hierarchy of the financial american centres.

In this city lives from long time ago the numerous christian community of quakeries, which called the city as “City of Brotherly Love“.

Beside all this, Philadelphia is an important cultural center: here we find a famous university (University of Pennsylvania), but also many theatres, museums and libraries. The biggest pride of the city is the Symfony Orchestra, being well known in this world of orchestras.

The inhabitans of Milan appreciate the noble elegance, everything that is expensive, but without being stridently.

The biggest commercial center from the city of fashion is Victor Emanuel II Gallery (photo 2), which is stretching lengthways the gradiose buidings and the medieval and renaissance cathedrals.

The elevating atmosphere of the halidom is frecvently disturbed by the rings of the mobile phones, an esential element of the busy life in Milan, a city of business, affairs, money and art.

Those sounds are accompaning the visitors everywhere: including through the glass of Camparino bar, which works since 1867. In this bar has began the famous mondial career of Campari drink.

In the central and West side of Argentina, at South of San Miguel de Tucuman city, are streatching the Andes. Here we can find the pride of the Argentinians, Aconcagua (photo 1) peak. The facts: the mount with 6979 meatres height is not only the highest from the American continent, but also the highest in the world, excepting Asia.

Annual, here comes climbers from all over the world (about 2000 persons in season time). The highest peak of the South semicircle is on the national park land, which has been founded in 1983 - Aconcagua Provincial Park. This peak is considered by the climbers pretty easy to be dethroned.

Aconcagua doesn`t have the peak covered with ice, but on its slopes there are 5 icebergs, which descends abruptly.

The Argentinian Fernando Grajales is known, in the Aconcagua Provincial Park, as being the greatest mountain guide. From November and until March, he`s extremely busy: there is when the amateurs of mountaineering came, beeing attracted by the charm of the highest mountain of America.

Despite the general oppinion that the peak is easy to be climbed, the expedition on Aconcagua needs an adequate equipment: tents and bags, sky sticks, propriate clothes (drawers) if you want to cover the path.

The climbing takes a few days and it usually starts at Puente del Inca (photo 2), situated at about 3000 meatres altitude. It`s indicated that the tourists stay there 2 days to get used with the new climate conditions. Far from there, the road goes to Plaza de Mulas, at 4200 meatres altitude. There is a big attraction for the climbers: Refugio Plaza de Mulas, the hotel (photo 3) situated at the highest height in the world, with South-American specialities which help the travelers to regain their forces.

The temperature in January, at the foot of the mountain, it`s about of +20 degrees Celsius and of +3 degrees Celsius in August. At 5000 meatres altitude, the temperature lows until -30 degrees Celsius. Pretty cold, ha?
