In Maryland, the borders between cities are difficult to be noticed. Long ago, the individual metropolis from the big crowd between Washington and Baltimore (photo 1) are not different anymore. In present, there are 7,7 million people living here.

It`s easy to notice that the long line of sky-scrapers doesn`t match with the predominant rural character of the Maryland state.chesapeake1.jpg

Since the colony period, this region was counting among the principal centres of tobacco production. Nowadays, here are cultures of maize, soy, wheat, barley, potato and legumes. Another important source of income is fishing because Chesapeake Golf (photo 2) abounds in crabs and mollucs. Also here you can find oysters.

Maryland is covered in dense forests and more than 90% of them are used on economic purposes. Not only the forests but also the maritime stations which are offering great ocean-city2.jpgconditions for a rest - holiday.

Many inhabitants from Maryland or other states came in the stations near to Ocean City (photo 3), on the Atlantic bank, which on the summer is full of tourists.
